21 Days of Downsizing: Day 4

Welcome to my 21 day series of downsizing my NYC shoebox apartment for a move to Australia! Alex + I have already downsized about 70% of our belongings, but I’ve got some “on the fence” items from my closet and I could use a bit of help!

If you know me well, you know that while I’ve come around on downsizing my fashuun, I will *gulp* NEVER downsize my stuffed animals. Cuz #crazystuffedanimallady

So, tune in to help me decide what closet items to keep or not to keep! Simultaneously, I’ll introduce you to one of my stuffed animal friends, cuz I could NEVER downsize them!

Day 4 – Lancelot at Knight

Meet Doodance.

Doodance is cut from the same cloth as Waffi. Well, not literally from the same fabric and if one ever dared to cut Doodance’s fabric or his string, it would not be a pretty day. But his protective owner digresses…

Doodance needs almost no introduction. Instead, I’ll share a few fun facts about Doodance. Did you know that Doodance…

  • was given to me from the same neighbor that gave Waffi to my brother
  • originally was named Lance after the above neighbor’s doppelgänger dog
  • can jump + fly to save other adiboos falling off precipices
  • has a favorite color and it’s blue
  • has a bald spot
  • has a best friend named Toddito who is a highland terrier
  • sometimes mistakes cans of tuna fish for cans of dog food
  • calls dog food “doogfod” because he’s punk like that
  • made it to the pages of Christina’s high school yearbook
  • studied one year of Mandarin Chinese with Alex in Taiwan

Now For Fashuun: To Keep or Not To Keep

On the fence about the below items. To keep or not to keep? Comment below and let me know your thoughts!

  • an asymmetrical blue striped mixed media flounce midi dress that’s easy breezy but not bra friendly
  • these silver reflective boots that are surprisingly comfortable to walk in…just trying to downsize shoes in general
  • a silver y-necklace with jewels when my jewelry jam’s typically more golden-toned
  • an opalescent ring I received chatting with an Australian vendor at a trade show in Vegas

Stay tuned for day five…
